Miami-Dade LGBTQ+ & Allied Chamber of Commerce Celebrates 2026 Legends Awards Honorees

Miami, FL – The Miami-Dade LGBTQ+ & Allied Chamber of Commerce (MDGLCC) proudly hosted the 2nd Annual Legends Awards on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Hilton Miami Downtown—an unforgettable evening honoring excellence across business, civic leadership, arts, and community impact.

This year’s event redefined the traditional awards ceremony, transforming the evening into a fully immersive experience—from the Hall of Nominees to interactive activations and a high-energy awards celebration.

“This was not your typical awards ceremony,” said Jason Nunez, Director of Programming and External Affairs. “We intentionally designed an experience—one that engaged every attendee from beginning to end. Every touchpoint was curated to inspire connection, storytelling, and recognition in a way that truly reflects the vibrancy of our community.”

The Chamber extends its sincere gratitude to its corporate sponsors, community partners, and event supporters, whose investment made this experience possible and continues to advance the mission of economic empowerment for LGBTQ+ and allied businesses.

2026 AWARD CATEGORIES & HONOREES

Legend Award (Highest Honor): George Neary, CEO, Tours “R” Us

Excellence in Business Leadership Award: Ralph Cutié, Director & CEO, Miami International Airport

Performer of the Year Award: Maryel Epps, vocalist and performer

Civic Impact Award: Gabriel J. Páez, Executive Director, Miami-Dade County LGBTQIA+ Advisory Board

Emerging Leader Award: Officer Vanessa Gonzalez, City of Miami Police Department LGBTQ+ Liaison

Additionally, the Chamber presented a Community Leadership Recognition to Commissioner Alex Fernandez for his commitment to public service and inclusive leadership .

“Tonight, we celebrate not just our winners, but every nominee,” said Lisette Garcia, Executive Director of MDGLCC. “Each of you is a Legend in your own right. While we recognize five outstanding honorees, it is the collective impact of all nominees that drives our community forward.”

The Legends Awards serves as a signature fundraising initiative benefiting the MDGLCC Foundation, supporting programs that advance entrepreneurship, leadership development, and economic inclusion.

With record attendance and strong sponsor support, the 2026 Legends Awards continues to elevate MDGLCC’s role as a leader in business advocacy and community impact.
