Sarah has built a vibrant queer life in 1990s San Francisco, where she's thriving as an artist, activist, and falling in love. But when her mother is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, she's forced to return to the conservative hometown she thought she'd left behind forever. As Sarah struggles to care for her mother while trying to hold onto her new relationship and sense of self, she discovers that family, memory, and identity are deeply intertwined. Adapted from Sarah Leavitt's acclaimed graphic memoir and featuring an outstanding voice cast led by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, and Wanda Sykes,Tangles is a beautifully animated and deeply moving portrait of lesbian love, caregiving, and finding strength through life's most difficult transitions, while finding humor, hope, and grace amid heartbreak.
