GRAMMY®- and Emmy-nominated recording artist John Beasley leads a performance of his celebrated big band project MONK’estra with the Frost Concert Jazz Band. Beasley, the Musical Director of the Thelonious Monk Institute has worked with the greatest, from Miles Davis, and Chaka Khan, to Sergio Mendes and Freddie Hubbard.  This live performance at the Frost School of Music will capture the spirit of Monk’s style in arrangements flavored with hints of New Orleans, hip-hop, and Afro-Cuban grooves.
